About Stephanie

Stephanie has served as a teacher in Oregon's public schools since her move from Spokane, WA in 2013. Her practice is student-centered, and is rooted in communication, reflection, and feedback. She is passionate about driving students to reach academic success by building positive and collaborative relationships through culturally relevant teaching strategies. Most recently, Stephanie taught 4th grade at KairosPDX in NE Portland, where she ended the school year teaching remotely with high student and family engagement, strong attendance rates, and improved student performance. Stephanie is an avid reader and writer, and works to bring rhythm and words to all aspects of life. She is excited to start the Masters in Book Publishing graduate program at Portland State University in September 2020. This opportunity to step into the publishing industry feels like a natural progression for her career and her future. Stephanie resides in SW Portland, and she loves her community.
