I have five children of my own who each came with their own special set of abilities. With each child, it became evident that I needed to adapt to their own style of learning and functioning instead of trying to get them to learn and behave the way I wanted them to! I've been able to use this technique for all children I work with, so what works for one child with adhd doesn't necessarily work for all children with adhd. The same goes for a child on the autism spectrum. I've learned to treat each child with a unique style so that they can get the best care from me regardless of how they learn or behave differently from other children.
