I have worked with children with different special needs. When I was working in the elementary school, I shadowed a little girl that had down syndrome. I would take her to all her specials and accompany her during lunchtime. I would help her interact with the other children and assist her in her academics. I would also maintain her self help skills, which included toilet training, putting on her own coat, and interacting with other children. I just knowing that I can make a difference in one child is such a rewarding feeling.
