I'm a mom of 6 grown kids, including one with special needs and some who had special medical and dietary/allergy needs. I also have 2 grandkids that I visit and help with regularly. I live in the country (and raised my kids here, mostly). We homeschooled and now they are all self-sufficient successful adults. I homeschooled my kids mostly following a Charlotte Mason style education which includes outside time/time in nature, lots of hands-on practice and play, and what she called living books... the kinds of books and stories that teach us about life and the world around us. It also includes exposure to art and good music." Over the past few years, I have done occasional nannying for primary and elementary-age children. And I have done some pet-sitting. I'm used to having animals and pets on my homestead as well. Prior to having my family, I served in the USAF for 6 years. I have used Stephanie as a caregiver for about 8 years now. She is FANTASTIC with my kids. She values them as they were her own and engages them in activities they want to do. I have also observed her with her special needs son (an adult now)… she is so patient and loving with him.
