I was one of the kids that needed Math Tutoring. I did not understand it at all and also couldn't have cared less about it. A few years later I started getting curious about Math and started learning it all from scratch. And so with lots of effort I ended up with a Master's Degree in Mathematics. Since I don't have a natural talent for Math, I know exactly what students who srtuggle are going through and I am able to break down the process for them to follow. I pull back the curtain for them so to speak. I worked as a full time mathematics tutor for 6 years on all levels, which gave me the experience to see what the students get stuck on and explain the subject matter using concepts they are familar with. My way of teaching also gives them the confidence that they can grasp mathematical concepts even if it does not just fall in their laps.
