Hi, I have been in the special education field now for 43 years. I am 54 so, yes, and older candidate. This just shows my passion and love for this career. My age is not holding me back. I have worked with so many different abilities and disabilities. I can't label them all. I love helping people thrive for their best independent life. I have no problem assisting them in any of their daily cares, therapies, chores, or challenges. I am CPR, First Aid, PCA ( personal care assistant) certified. I have my own vehicle for transportation if needed. In the past, I have worked with clients who have had GJ-tubes, G-tubes, and Tracheotomies. I feel very strong about equality for those with disabilities. I am a proud mama of a son who was labeled disabled by society. But we do not let his disabilities stop him. He has a deaf mechanic! I believe that strong communication between all of those who care for your loved one will help them live the best life ever and get the best care.
