About Sophia

Sophia worked with our family for over a year taking care of our son O, 11 months to 23 months. She also occasionally helped take care of our 2 older kids, ages 6 and 8. We loved working with Teacher Sophia as the kids called her, and our toddler loved her too. She has a calm reassuring presence with our toddler. She fostered a lot of child led play where she let him pick out activities or lead explorations of our neighborhood. We had our older kids in larger daycares and preschools, so we were looking for someone with that background and experience and Teacher Sophia delivered. She has years of experience as a lead teacher at a Montessori school and a degree in early childhood education. It was really useful to get her perspective on O development. She also organized lots of fun activities for O like sensory bins and little ball games that helped his fine motor skill development. And we (and the grandparents) loved all the pictures she posted of O throughout the day. Sophia made O meals and helped clean up the kitchen and did the kids’ laundry during O nap. And she was punctual. We miss her and would definitely hire her again as a full time nanny.
