About Sophia

Hi! My name is Sophia and I am a college student, as well as a certified teachers aide and substitute teacher. Starting this 2024 school year, I will be commuting to college and will be substitute teaching as my part time job. My passion for helping children grew as I attended a technical high school, in the Academy for Education and Learning. I got the chance to participate in field experiences at local schools, and work directly with the preschool. I gained knowledge about the field of education and childhood development. I gained awareness about diverse learners, qualities of effective educators, and appropriate guidance and discipline. I also completed a 120 hour internship in a first grade classroom last school year. Down by my college, I have worked with toddlers, the nursery, and preschoolers in a daycare. I was also an afterschool aide in a middle school. I have 2 yrs of experience specifically babysitting children by myself from ages 3 to 7.
