About Sonya

Hi! I'm a teacher and artist looking for a regular position in the Hershey area. I have worked with children and young adults since my time as a student at Wesleyan University. After graduating from with a BA in Studio Art, I spent time as an Artist-in-Residence and Innovation Instructor focusing on process based art and fostering empowerment for students through art! For the past two years, I've been working as a substitute teacher for school districts in Dauphin County including Lower Dauphin, Central Dauphin, and Milton Hershey School. I have taught a range of subjects including: art, math, social studies, English, and Business Ed. I am a believer in the power of social and emotional based learning, and find joy helping students breaks through academic barriers. I love yoga, cooking, and exploring health and wellness. I love the outdoors, and going for long walks in the summer. I also have two wonderful cats who keep me comfortable while I delve into my various hobbies.
