I have taught at a preschool for 2 years, a middle school for 1 year, and I am currently teaching at an Adult ESL school. I have taught several subjects, and from that I have learned a key element to teaching and learning. A big part of teaching is not knowing the subject perfectly, but guiding the student to learn the subject in a way that works for them. I am honest if I do not know the answer, and thats what sparks the most important part of learning, critical thinking and problem solving. I am a big believer of teaching students to become independent thinkers and learners. To prepare them for the moments when they will have to figure it out on their own.
