About Sofia

I am a rising junior at Washington University in St. Louis, and I have been babysitting since 2014. I have taken multiple courses in childcare, I am a certified babysitter and infant caregiver, and I have cared for children from the ages of 3 months-12 years. I make an effort to make sure that every child I care for has fun and feels safe and comfortable. I love children, and I am pursuing a pre-medicine track at school to hopefully someday become a pediatric surgeon. I am also majoring in psychology and have recently taken multiple courses on the psychology of child development. I believe this will allow me to be an even better caregiver because now I have more knowledge about what approaches to discipline and caregiving are beneficial to children in the long run, and which approaches they typically respond to best. My goal when I care for a child is to make a meaningful connection with them in the hopes of enriching their lives in some way. References available upon request.
