Sofia is a kind and caring individual, and I felt that my daughter was safe with her. She was open to feedback, which I appreciated. While Sofia was upfront about not having extensive experience with full-time toddler care, I did notice that this became evident in some situations. There were moments when she seemed unsure about how to engage my daughter, especially during her first week. With her boyfriend in town at the time, I sensed she may have been a bit distracted. I did address this with her, but unfortunately, I felt it impacted her opportunity to bond with my daughter, who is slow to warm up to strangers, and make a good first week impression. Sofia did communicate very last-minute that she had check-up scheduled during her first week, but she reassured me that she would provide more notice moving forward. It’s possible she was adjusting to the transition from her previous desk job, which may have influenced her performance early on. Overall, she seems like someone who genuinely cares and is committed to improving. With time and additional training, I’m confident she will become more comfortable. Through this experience, we realized that we personally prefer an experienced nanny especially since we just moved and my daughter needed someone who knew how to engage from the start.
