Hello! My name is Skylar. I am a 23-year-old graduate from Tulane University. I am passionate about helping children reach their fullest potential. With years of experience working with kids, I have developed a deep understanding of their unique needs and learning styles. As a Child ABA Therapist, I specialize in working with children with autism, providing tailored support to help them thrive. In addition to my therapeutic work, I have over 5 years of experience tutoring elementary and middle school students in English, Math, and Science. My approach is patient, engaging, and adaptive, ensuring that each child receives the individual attention they need to succeed. Skylar has now had 3 sessions with my son Jeremy (soon to be 8th grade, Geometry/Trigonometry) and his confidence has already drastically improved from where he was at the end of the school year. The 8th grade math teacher is a well known challenging teacher… and though it sounds mean to schedule a tutor in the summer… he’s nervous… and I quote… “what even is Trigini-ometry anyways it looks crazy hard” 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ Now he at least knows what’s coming and feels like he has a head start. Best decision we’ve made in a while!! We’re planning on using Skylar again once the school year starts and honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets an A in Math next year. We love Skylar for her ability to break down seemingly complex concepts into easy steps for Jeremy which has helped him show some pretty immediate improvement. Since Skylar’s able to help in multiple subjects, who knows we’ll probably give her a ring to help with Social Studies or writing if (let’s be real… not if, when) he starts to drop off there.
