About Silas

I am currently an Elementary Education Special Education major at Northern Michigan University. I have been working with and caring for children for about 8 years. I started babysitting when I was 12, and then I taught swim lessons to children for 7 years. During the school year, I work as a substitute teacher and I work with all ages and types of children and learners. I am at my happiest with children, and that is why I am going into education. I hope to be surrounded by them for the rest of my life. I love being outside in the summer! I was a lifeguard and competitive swimmer for many years so I am comfortable with children in water. I love doing art and crafts, and reading. I always went to the Botanic Gardens and the public library when I was little and I can't wait to find fun activities to do with your children in your community!
