About Sierra

I have always had a passion for working with children, so I studied Human Development at UC Davis and earned a Bachelor Degree (with a concentration on early childhood development, ages 0-18). I then worked with foster youth and youth receiving behavioral management and psychiatric treatment at a residential treatment facility. I volunteered and interned in the Child Life Departments at children's hospitals in Sacramento. I have 4 years experience as a preschool teacher. I have experience teaching zoo phonics and pre-reading and pre-writing skills. My focus as an educator was on the healthy growth and development of children, their physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development, appropriate for their age. I am skilled in play-based learning, emotional regulation, and positive guidance. My husband and I recently relocated to Walnut Creek, and I am looking for part-time work mornings and afternoons Mondays-Thursdays, sometimes evenings and weekends depending on scheduling.
