My experience with special needs started in my mom's classroom as little one. I have always been surrounded by these bright, amazing and wildly compassionate beings and it is a true joy to build relationships with them, just like any other child! I have spent years in her classroom volunteering with her special needs students, ages ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade, from high functioning aspergers, Down syndrome, even making friends with her non verbal students. It takes a different kind of finesse, patience and kindness to work with special needs kids. I know it's not something everyone can do, but I was lucky enough to learn from the best. My creative, compassionate disposition allows me to create a warm, welcoming space for connection.
