Working with kids has been a lifelong passion of mine, to the point that I have made a career of helping them with their first steps (and coo's) into personhood. I always do my best to find a good balance when working with kids, giving then hugs when they need comfort, but I also encouraging autonomy and showing them how they can do things themselves, and showing that we all make mistakes but it's important that we try again, to build skills. I love when parents get engaged with ASL and use it in their personal time with their child(ren), because having everyone understand each other just makes kids more confident in their language development which is super gratifying when they can communicate their needs effectively. Our family was SO lucky to have Sierra as a nanny. My baby boy was with me exclusively for his first 5 months of life, so he was often uncomfortable with new people-- yet I was shocked that he took to Sierra right away! I attribute this to Sierra's vast experience with little ones as well as her calm and calming demeanor. I was so nervous about hiring a nanny, but Sierra immediately put me at ease. She is knowledgable about baby and child sleep and eating, including safe handling of mother's milk as well as introducing solids. She is professional, communicative, and always on time. I would not hesitate to hire Sierra again any day. If you get a chance to hire her, your family is truly fortunate.
