About Shilo

I come from a family of caregivers. I started working as a DSP at a grassroots, non-profit group home in 2020, caring for five individuals in the IDD community. Nearly five years later, I have assumed the role of Co-Director of Operations. Together, my partner and I run the group home together, overseeing everything from payroll, staffing and scheduling to medical appointments, activities, budgeting, etc. The folks living at the house range in age between late 20's to early 80's. I can cook, clean, launder, run errands, and assist with bathing. I am med certified and CPR/First Aid certified. I have experience with dementia/Alzheimer's, blindness, Autism, and senior care. I truly have a passion for helping people and making connections. Some fun facts about me: I have three rescue dogs and a handful of rescue cats. My partner and I love to travel and camp. I am a Folk Singer/Songwriter/Instrumentalist & have released 2 albums. I love to read!
