Experience: 10 yrs
As a semi-retired Executive Director of assisted living and Alzheimer's facilities, I provide in-home senior services for families wishing to keep their loved ones home. I do check-in services, companionship services, wellness checks, tidying up of their living area, checking on medications to see if they are taking meds, simply letting them know someone is checking on them, and giving the families peace of mind. With extensive senior care experience, I know the red flags family members might miss and I can notify them of my findings. In addition, I can provide companionship-- play games, work puzzles, or just talk and visit. I have a degree in psychology and gerontology with training in Alzheimer's care. I know how to care for your senior loved one! In addition, I have impeccable references. Let me provide your family with an extra set of eyes and attention for your senior. I can shop for your loved one, run errands, and visit during the holidays when family lives far away.

Posting my mom's review of Sherry below (I found her for my mom and she's been wonderful to coordinate with, responsive, reliable and my mom loves her): I am pleased to provide this 5 star review and recommendation of Cheryl (“Sherry” ) R. She has been of tremendous help to me in Assistant Living for the last 6 months. She has provided – and continues to provide assistance on the many things I cannot do for myself (or the facility’s caregiver staff cannot, due to their time constraints). She is my “arms and legs” because I am in a power wheelchair due to physical limitations (non-weight bearing and weakness). . I know she always has my best interests in mind and I joyfully rely on her, especially because my adult daughter lives out of state. First, her character. She has a heart of gold – kind, caring, patient, compassionate, and willing/offering to assist in any way to make my life easier. She is honest, positive, cheerful, respectful, and responsive to my needs. Second, she has an excellent work ethic, always on time, never misses a scheduled visit, and offers to stay beyond original agreement if that day’s “to do” list is not finished. She can work without supervision and thankfully remembers my preferences (how and where I like things put away or done.) Additionally, she is efficient, making good use of her time with me and possesses excellent organization skills (end result is always functional and attractive). She will suggest improvement ideas for my consideration and complete only if I agree. Her assistance includes setting up my large 2 bedroom unit when I first moved in, running occasional errands (like going to bank or picking up take out food), completing day to day tasks like organizing supplies and my clothes/closet, tidying up, washing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning small refrigerator/microwave, helping me with online ordering – and so much more. Finally and in summary, Sherry has greatly enhanced my quality of life and happiness with her help with duties and with her exceedingly warm, proactive, and consistent support. Highly recommend.
