I have 12 years experience taking care of people with mental disabilities and 28 years of experience taking care of people with physical disabilities. I enjoy my work because I know that I make a difference in the lives of those I touch. My job as a care provider is to help my clients with the activities of daily living in which they have difficulty. While at the same time, teaching them how to perform certain tasks so as to become more independent. I do this in a fun and friendly manner and with a lot of patience. I feel that a care provider and their client have to establish a connection and trust. Once this bond is formed they can both learn and teach one another. I have taken care of people for many years and have a lot of experience but I treat each client as though they were my first with an open mind.
