About Shellie

I am the mother of three children, ages 25, 20, and 13 as well as a grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren ages 4 and 1. My early college education was centered around Elementary Education and I have worked in area schools as a paraprofessional and a coach. In addition, I am involved in caring for families and their children as a midwife's assistant and childbirth educator. I am a very creative individual who loves doing crafts with kids, reading to them, exploring nature, and helping them explore their environment and experience new things. My approach in raising my own children has been very hands-on, believing in limited technology influence (TV, video games, etc.), healthful food choices, and teaching children acceptance of diversity. I like to spend time outdoors and enjoy taking kids to the beach, hiking, to plays and concerts, and in general staying active and engaged in exploring all that life has to offer!
