About Shelley

I'd describe my personality as optimistic, flexible and goal oriented. I like tutoring because it addresses the needs of the individual student. I can use my talents and professional experience to make a difference for young learners. I first tutored peers as a community college student. Later, after completing a Masters Degree in 2001, I started my own business as a tutor and writing coach/tutor. In my spare time, I like to write. I'm working on a novel. I spend a lot of time with my family, and enjoy working out at the gym, playing guitar, and watching movies. One thing you should know about me is that I'm reliable. I respect our agreements and arrangements insofar as it concerns anything that has to do with the time I spend with your child. I'm a retired teacher, and a parent as well. My skills include all aspects of teaching English in terms of acquisition and instructional methods. Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening, and Grammar. I experience teaching ESL.
