I am a student of a well-known college and majored in neuroscience. My major did involve a lot of psychology, so I have taken child developmental and lifespan psychology, and behavioral analysis and teaching methods. I first started working in the child care field as a nursery care worker at the YMCA. My experience working in the nursery at the YMCA has proven to be valuable when caring for multiple children with ages ranging from six weeks to 6 years old. There were several children that came into the nursery that had special needs. I have worked with children who had Spectrum Autism, Down's syndrome, and severe health problems. While working at the YMCA, I decided to get my CNA and phlebotomy certification. Soon after I got my certifications, I took a job as a patient care technician on the mother/baby unit at a hospital. As a patient care technician, my job duties entailed all job duties of a regular RN's except for administering IV medication. I have also volunteered with a foundation which is an after-school program for children with special needs. I worked a lot with a girl who had Muscular Dystrophy, I became close friends with her and assisted with her care at home.
