About Shelby

I'm a former kindergarten teacher with 12 years of experience caring for children ages 1-10. I'm currently attending graduate school and no longer have a schedule compatible with teaching, but I'd like to continue working with families as I work toward my degree. I'm passionate about fostering healthy environments for children to grow and learn, and especially love helping children develop their emotional awareness. For families of young children who are interested in educational support, I also love developing personalized lessons that incorporate the child's preferred learning styles and special interests. I follow each family's preferred communication method and am very comfortable enforcing household rules in a gentle and developmentally appropriate manner. I'm also comfortable working with children who have behavioral issues, and have additional experience working with and teaching children with mild intellectual disabilities. I have a 2-seat car.
