I am a kindhearted and emphatic certified special education teacher who is flexible and accommodating in the design and implementation of inspiring hands-on lessons, employing a wide range of manipulative, multi-sensory activities. I am skilled in addressing the needs of children and ensuring children will thrive in an adaptable atmosphere. I posses the interpersonal and communication skills necessary for working in collaboration with parents as well as providing parents information in a professional and effective manner. During my tenure as a special education teacher in the public schools, I wrote Individual Educational Programs, attended PPT meetings, provided plans and implemented curricula, instructional strategies and methods appropriate to the educational and developmental needs of each student. I have developed and implemented strong behavior management systems and intervention strategies as well as provided diagnostic assessments and prescriptive planning for each learner.
