About Shelby

Hi there! I'm a junior studying Psychology and currently working on my accelerated masters degree program in Social Science Teaching at the University of Southern California. I plan on becoming a history teacher after receiving my teaching credentials in 2027 and can't wait to see what the next generation will bring! I work with kids because they are smarter than we give them credit for! They are leading the future and it's up to us to provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to foster the intelligence within them! My skills include honesty, practicality, and respect. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a strategy that we are taught as undergrads and helps us rethink how we speak to our kids, in a way that reshapes their thoughts around misbehaving and in turn why they are doing it! On my free time I love to walk at the beach, go thrifting, try new coffee shops, paint listening to an audiobook and play with my cat Winnie!
