About Sheila

I am a healthy, compassionate, retired Human Resources professional. Was primary overseer of my aging and disabled mother for 6 years. My mother was wheelchair bound and residing in an Assisted Living facility during that time. I frequently assisted her transitioning from wheelchair to car and back to chair. I served as her medical and financial Power of Attorney, assisting her in making all financial and medical decisions. I ensured she stayed in touch with friends and family members, created a pleasant living environment for her (decorating room for holidays and helped in writing her holiday and birthday cards), cooked and delivered her favorite meals, hand washed favorite clothing, transported her to medical appts, and took her for an occasional car ride and restaurant meal. I understand the importance of those who are housebound or have limited time outside the home, to feel less isolated and that their life still matters.
