Parents should never feel guilty for spending time with their children and family. You should not have chores in the back of your mind. We don't require families to "pick up or preclean". We do all the things. Dishes, bathrooms, linen changes, kitchen cleaning, floors, laundry, recycling. We also do organizing, closet and pantry revampts all the things that make your life easier.

Sheila, her daughter, and grandson did a good job for us, though a 'powder room' was completely missed and the master bath toilet was unfinished. We agreed on two people for 4 hours and a specific price, but ended up being charged 25% more as the grandson came along too. Then I started getting phone calls from her husband, demanding payment (3 hours after getting the Venmo details) and accusing me of not wanting to pay. There was never a question about not paying. Sheila and I had talked before the bill was submitted and worked everything out, but the phone call and voicemail did not reflect that. It's a shame, she's a lovely lady, and I would have hired her permanently, but not after those phone calls.
