About Shayla

Being a caregiver has been a rewarding part of my life. As a homemaker for several years with two children who are now adults, I am enjoying the freedom to explore new opportunities and also spend more time with my two precious cats! Cats have held a special place in my heart since I was little. I currently own an adorable Maine Coon tabby mix named Marvin and a beautiful solid black cat named Gracie. Both were adopted from shelters many years ago. Marvin was my son's first pet, and then Gracie was my daughter's. We give lots of love and attention to our kitties and they bring us so much joy. In addition to caring for my family and pets, I enjoy reading, writing poetry and playing the piano. I have a BA in Journalism. I have held several part time jobs while my children were growing up. Cats are fascinating animals and I look forward to taking care of them!
