Greetings, Parents! As a Nanny Practitioner, I am currently based in the Bay Area searching for my "Unicorn Family." I hold a master's degree in Gerontology, with an emphasis in intergenerational programming, which provides me a unique perspective on creating meaningful connections across age groups. I have over 15 years of experience caring for children from infancy to preteens, including partnering with families with three sets of twins, families formed through surrogacy and adoptions, and same- sex couples. I've also supported high-profile/ high-net-worth families with co-nannies and fully staffed homes. While I enjoy working with all ages, I have a particular niche with infants and toddlers and I love growing with the family. I am passionate about caregiving approaches such as RIE, Hand in Hand, and Montessori, and I've taken courses in each. Shawnee has a calm and loving, albeit confident way about her. It is impossible to imagine a better caregiver for our daughter. Yesterday. Her demeanor is very relaxed and she never seemed flustered or overwhelmed (something that left us in wonder!). Shawnee is an incredible caregiver she taught E baby sign language which helped E communicate easily. She found an incredible group of friends for E to play with and set up regular play date throughout the week. Shawnee also goes above and beyond. She would bring in new toys And books for E. She would water our plants and handle are mill while we were out of town, as well as be regularly available for date nights. I trust her immensely. Shawnee amplifies what a person who worked with children should be: organized, caring, adaptable, empathetic and energetic. We are excited for her new adventure in LA. We would not hesitate to use her services again in the future, and any family who hires her will be a lucky family indeed!
