Sharon is a nice girl but proved highly unreliable during her 4 weeks with us as a full-time nanny. We could not recommend her to anyone as a nanny in any capacity, and only as a one-time babysitter of absolute last resort. During her four weeks with us, she could not complete a full week of work, and she used a litany of reasons imaginable: Her first week she was late, ghosted the old nanny during training, asked for two days off for "illness", and told us she had pre-planned vacation on day 5. Her second week she was late, and later informed us she would be out sick for one day. Her third week she informed us the day prior that she would be gone for three days for Thanksgiving with no prior coordination. For her fourth week she informed us there was a death in the family and that she would be out for most of the week. On her fifth week she was no-notice no-show. When asked to see if she was coming in she didn't bother to reply. Ultimately it was very stressful trying to figure out if she was going to come in to work or not, and her last-minute notices often wreaked havoc on our work schedule. In summary, until she is ready to treat nannying/babysitting as more than a part-time hobby, we recommend steering clear of her, especially for families that are looking for consistent and reliable nanny/babysitting help.
