I am 29 years old, I have had a few care jobs in my lifetime. I love to out help others, especially those whom are elderly or individuals with special needs. Currently I am direct support professional, something I find very rewarding! In the past, I've worked with a 76-year-old man who had a spinal injury, extremely limited mobility, as well as a catheter, pic line, numerous other ailments. This position was live in but I did get paid as well. I helped with sponge baths, , companionship, and range of motion exercises. I cooked meals, baked desserts, and once a week I would assist his wife in transporting him in his wheelchair to the casino for some outside fun. I have also cared for a 48-year-old man who had a stroke resulting in the loss of use of his right side ligaments. I helped him in the mornings by getting him showered and dressed each day, feeding him breakfast, doing range of motion exercises.
