About Shannon

I'm a proponent of it takes a village to raise a child. I have 2 years of experience as a teacher at a preschool for ages 2 to 4, where I implemented lessons and activities in reading, writing, math, and science, and encouraged social and emotional development. I have a semester in early childhood development under my belt, as well as 6 years of babysitting for family and friends with children aged newborn to 10 years old. I support maintaining or establishing a routine and enforcing household boundaries. I prefer to engage with children through play and educational resources. I love cooking and baking, especially with organic, whole foods. My personal interests include health, fitness, and psychology, trying new foods, and writing stories. My goals are gaining certifications as a doula and lactation consultant and becoming a registered dietitian. In the meantime, I hope to meet like minded people and build mutually beneficial relationships.
