About Shelby

I am very experienced with children of all ages. I have a brother that is 6 and a little sister the age of 9. I learned how to take care of them at a very young age once they were born. I am also experienced with special needs children. When I was 2 my parents adopted a child with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. He is exactly 7 months older than me. We have grown up with each other so I would consider him as my brother. He is unable to talk, clean, and dress himself. About 4 days a week in the morning while my mom is at work I give him his medication, get him dressed and fed, and get him on the bus for school. Because he has FAS he gets very angry and violent, makes messes, often hits or bites, etc. After being around this my whole life I have become very patient, even in very stressful situations.
