About Shannon

Hello! I am an occupational therapy assistant. My experience is with individuals diagnosed with dementia, neuro-cognitive disorders (such as Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and ALS), stroke, and cancer. I am experienced in providing assistance and care with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, feeding), transfers (wheelchair-bed/chair, toilet, shower), mobility (and environmental modification to ensure safe mobility), and leisure activities. I have personal experience providing 24/7 care for my grandmother who had Alzheimer's and, subsequently, a stroke; my uncle who had Lewy body dementia, and my father who had stage 4 lung cancer. I am an avid music, history, and trivia buff. I collect board games, rare/first edition books, pre-1950 maps, and vinyl records spanning several decades. I have a completely open schedule, including weekends. I am flexible and have no problem accommodating last minute schedule changes.
