I have been an active member of the Swallowtail School Community for the last 10 years as a parent and as a staff member in the Early Childhood program. I worked as an assistant in three Early Childhood classes before accepting the role of Lead Teacher for the Honeybee Preschool in the spring of 2021 which I continue to hold today. Before working in the Early Childhood program at Swallowtail School, my professional life was a blend of movement arts and therapeutic practice including 9 years locally as a massage therapist. My professional training and education are concentrated in Contemporary Dance, Somatic Education and Massage Therapy. I have extended training in Developmental Movement Education through The School of Body-Mind Centering. I am a skilled and caring educator who believes that healthy early childhood care has everything to do with supporting the Foundational Senses of Movement, Life (wellness), Sensation and Balance wrapped in an environment of warmth and safety.

where to begin? shannon has been such a wonderful and patient caregiver to our son for about two months now. we often tell people that we struck gold by finding such a warm and nurturing presence for our son. he absolutely adores shannon and the amount of trust and love he has for her is visible by his beaming smile when she arrives at our house. she spends quality time with him and has helped foster a sense of wonder for the outdoors and his surroundings on their daily walks outside. she is patient with his need to be supported to sleep and is quick to console him successfully when he experiences big feelings. i truly adore shannon and her ability to ease my nerves as a first time mom transitioning back to work is invaluable. we are so blessed and so grateful to have her apart of our lives!
