I have been a volunteer at a children's hospital since I was 14 years old. When I was 17 years old I was an intern in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) working and learning alongside nurses at the children's hospital. I am also first aid and CPR certified. I am very passionate about children. I have been a nurse for 5 years at children's hospital Colorado. I graduated with a psychology degree from Creighton University and with a nursing degree from Denver school of nursing. I feel I am a very caring and empathetic person because I have had to learn to overcome being special myself. I have had respiratory issues since birth which include a tracheostomy, a g-tube, nebulizers and oxygen in the evenings. I love the idea of helping children and being able to show them that being different and having a positive attitude can be a good thing.
