About Shannon

I have been babysitting since I was 13 beginning with my younger cousin, who was a toddler at the time. Then in my junior year of high school, I began babysitting my neighbor's first-grader, and 3 kids down the street which included a toddler, a 7-year-old, and an 11-year-old. In college I babysat my older cousin's 2-year-old. I have watched over all these kids late into the night, and I have watched my cousin's baby for a full 24 hours starting at 8 a.m. In 2019, I lived in Italy for 3 months nannying for 2 sisters, each of whom had 2 children. In 2020, I became a Registered Behavior Technician, providing therapy to those on the autistic spectrum. This job provides me experience in caring for kids of all ages, one-on-one, with a wide range of characteristics and needs. I value learning through play, so I do not take for granted that with kids, most moments are a teaching opportunity - however subtle.
