I have 25+ years' experience working with children--as a nanny, an American Montessori Society certified teacher of children from infancy through kindergarten, a follower of the Resources for Infant Educarers (RIE) ideals, a homeschool teacher, and a library children's story timer. Working with young children is my life-long passion, and I am committed to trusting even the youngest children to be capable individuals and partners in their own development. I'm also an animal lover and have frequently worked as a pet sitter for dogs and cats. To me, each new day is an opportunity to guide the child in the joyful discovery and exploration of their environment--facilitating their cognitive, socio/emotional, language, motor, and sensory development through play, movement, interaction with educational materials, and time spent in nature. Shani was with us for about a year but has made a lasting impression. As a brand new mom with a 10 week old, needing to go back to work, I couldn't have gotten luckier finding her. She is so knowledgeable, patient, kind and reliable. It made work days so much easier knowing our little one was in good hands. Our baby has always seemed to be a few months ahead developmentally and I know she has played a large role in that. Your family would be lucky to have her!
