I'd describe my personality as lighthearted and empathetic while taking my responsibilities very seriously. I'm looking for a job that will give me the opportunity to provide care for someone who can no longer care for themselves. I have been caring for seniors for apx 5 years. My experience has been working in nursing homes as well as in-home care. I have also raised my, special needs, child into adulthood. My experience includes: Changing diapers & bed pads; Bathing, skin-hair-nail care; Assist with dressing; Bed sore prevention; Dress wounds/change bandages; Administer medications as prescribed; Maintain fluid intake; Assist with feeding; Maintain daily log; Launder clothing & bedding; Maintain cleanliness of patient's surroundings; Maintain stock of supplies. I also have experience using durable medical equipment (DME). Specifically: Alternating Pressure Pad (APP); Low Air Loss (LAL) Mattress System; Invacare Perfecto2 Oxygen Concentrator; Medical Portable Suction Machine.

Shanda was a caregiver for my mom from 12/2022 - 05/2023. My mom was 78 years old. She had Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) and Vascular Dementia. She was on Hospice and bed bound. She could not even roll onto her side without assistance. Shanda went above and beyond in caring for her. She bathed, washed her hair did skin care... I was able to leave my home knowing that my mom was being cared for. Her medications were given as prescribed. Eventually, she could not feed herself. Also, with CML, mom started having skin tears. Shanda tended to those. Mom was placed on oxygen. Shanda made certain that it worked properly. She also had to use a suction machine to suction mom's mouth. Shanda was with me the day that my mom passed away. She was of great comfort. There's so much more that I could say. Shanda was invaluable to me and my mom. When I had no one, she was there. I highly recommend her to care for your loved one.
