About Shanae

I was born to be in the medical field. My mother is a nurse, as is my sister, my late grandmother was, and her mother before her. Healthcare has sort of been inborn for me. I am currently well into my third semester at UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing to become a Registered Nurse and working at UPMC McKeesport hospital as a care attendant. I went to Everest Institute and graduated with my Patient Care Technician certificate. During my time at school, I received awards for being on the Deans list and a President's Award to name a few of my accomplishments. After school I went on to volunteer as a PCT at Hillman Cancer Center and at Harbour Assisted Living. Also, my grandmother and grandfather lived at home with my family at points in their lives when they were sickly and suffering from dementia and I helped with being their caretaker. Helping people brings me so much joy and fulfillment.
