About Shadae

I grew up with a handicap brother. When I turned 10 my mom taught me how to change his pampers. My brother was 4 years old then. I also helped gave him his medicine and feed him as well. My sister help too, but since I was the oldest I had to be more helpful then her. I learned how to take my brother in and out of his wheelchair as well. When my brother turned 12 he started to get a bit too heavy for me. So my sister and I had to end up working together to get him in and out of the chair. I also learned how to do certain things for him encase of emergencies. I learned how to change his button in case it comes out. The first time I changes it was when I was 11. I had a babysitter that time. At the time I was not completely sure how to do it, but remembering what my parents did made me less worried. I was able to get it back in his stomach without no harm being done. My parents were proud of me that time. That was the same day they decided to teach me how to do it the right way. I also learned CPR encase my brother may need it. My brother is the main person look I after, but I also look out for my little cousins as well. whenever my aunt has to leave her 3 kids she sometimes ask for me. Right now she has two daughters, 1 and 3. She also has a son whose about 8 years old. A lot of times her daughters can be a handful but at the end I manage to calm them down. I hardly ever worry about her son because he usually watches T. V. or plays with his toys. Sometimes I would either check up on him, talk or play with him. Even though my aunt tells me a list of things to do for her kids, I some times call her whenever I am unsure about something. But then again I enjoy babysitting because it gives me a chance to experience with working with children so I can understand what it would be like when I have my own.
