About Savannah

I realized how much I love working with children when my niece was born. I've watched her grow up and have loved all the different stages she's gone through. I have 3 nieces and 2 nephews now, and I love helping with all of them. I took a year of child development in high school, and have worked with children for 3 years at the YMCA's before and after school program and summers at Camp Sargent. I enjoy thinking about activities that I can do with children. I like to think of STEM projects, edible art projects, science activities and arts and crafts, even making slime! I'm reliable, and flexible with time. I enjoy organizing things, and would be willing to help out in any ways needed. I try to understand children's needs, using different techniques depending on the situation. In a meltdown I would start with deep breathing, offer a stress toy, or have them draw a picture. Once calm, we would work together for a solution. Other strengths I have are compassion, kindness and consistency.
