She even told me that she heard my 6-year-old crying in the room next to hers but chose not to get up and check on them. This was extremely concerning, as we had hired her with the expectation that she would be attentive and proactive in caring for our children. We were paying her $180 per day to provide childcare, yet she continuously avoided responsibilities and failed to engage with the kids in the way we had discussed. Another major issue was the inconsistencies in her statements. During her interview and on her resume, she claimed to have experience caring for multiple children at once. However, she later told my husband that she had only ever worked with one child at a time. This discrepancy raised serious doubts about her honesty and actual level of experience. Beyond that, there were numerous red flags within the first two weeks of hiring her. Her overall attitude and work ethic did not align with the expectations she set during the hiring process. While I understand that adjusting to a new family can take time, her unwillingness to step up, take initiative, and fulfill the role we hired her for made it clear that she was not a good fit.
