I have been a Child Care Aide over at the New York State School for the Blind for nearly 2 years. I absolutely love my job and the joy these faces bring into my life daily. Verbal, non verbal, these kids always find a way to melt your heart and bring a smile to your face. I know the importance of putting my entire focus onto the child and carry the upmost of compassionate intentions when assisting kiddos. I work with kiddos who are both low and high functioning and carry conditions such as blindness, autism, severe ADD and ADHD and more. I am experienced in handling and preventing self injurious behaviors and am aware of the trauma these kids have undertaken. I am experienced in very little American Sign Language. My goal is to create a fun, safe, playful and encouraging environment for your littles while we focus on any goals you may have in mind. Thank you.
