Hello, thank you for your interest in my profile! I'm working on finishing my bachelor's degree before going to grad school and I'm looking for a family to nanny for a while - someone that I could stay with long-term would be great. When I'm not working or studying, I spend my time gardening, volunteering at the animal shelter, having some fun with my photography hobby, or playing with my dog. I like to relax with a book or a knitting project when I have the time. I also volunteer my time with the local Safekids coalition as a Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST), making sure the little ones in my community are as safe as possible in their vehicles. I'm neurotic about car safety myself and when transporting children, they're restrained as safely as possible every single ride - no exceptions. I started babysitting at the ripe old age of 11, and haven't stopped since. At 17, I started working full-time as a nanny, and now I have 6 years of experience with a multitude of different families. I've worked with children ranging from newborns to preteens, anywhere from 1 to 7 kids at a time (including twins and triplets), and easily adapt to a multitude of different parenting styles! I specialize and especially love working with infants, but I have an extensive experience with all ages ranges, particularly toddlers, preschoolers and elementary ages as well. I'm gentle but firm with my charges, not allowing them to run wild, but also do not use physical punishments. Instead, I opt for age-appropriate discipline, like redirection or removal from the situation when warranted with toddlers, graduating to consequences like time outs for children of at least preschool age. But most of the time we just like to have fun! Arts and crafts, reading, playing outdoors, imaginative play, fun trips to the zoo or story time - I love doing it all. I limit TV time as much as possible and have had no issues working for families where screen time is not allowed. Thanks for reading!
