Though I ultimately ended up in education, I have 3. 5 years of Nursing school under my belt and I worked as a CNA and nurse extern at a regional hospital while I was in nursing school. I also worked part time in the evening caring for an elderly woman who had dementia and Alzheimers. My grandmother also had Alzheimers and before I moved to Kansas City, I would rotate with other family members and spend 1-2 weekends a month taking care of all of her needs- household tasks, personal care, hygiene, errands and occasionally trying my hand at basic home repairs.
