About Sarah

During undergraduate and graduate school, I nannied full time for 3 different families (2 with newborns) throughout at 5 year period. I've been an educator for 15 years, teaching every grade, PreK-12th. I have been CPR certified multiple times in the past and have completed student crisis intervention trainings 6 times. I have a Master's in Multicategoricual Special Education with an additional certification in secondary ELA, Autism, and Early Childhood Special Ed. I've taught both special Ed and secondary ELA and reading. I have tutored ELA and math for all grade levels, as well as ACT prep. Early on as a teacher I knew I needed to make the most out my time with any kid. My middle school team had a mantra that started us out each morning: Let's not make them hate it today, and if you have a teenager, you know what a challenge that is. This plays a huge part in how I interact with kids as a tutor or babysitter- relate to your audience, find the humor, be flexible, be consistent.
