About Sarah

For 10 years I worked with students age 10-21 who who required significant support due to medical conditions. I have experience with taking care of daily personal needs such as bathing, assistance with toileting/diapers, tube feeding, administrating medications, safe assistance with feeding, and seizure monitoring. I can use equipment to assist with positioning (hoyer lift, sliding board, walkers/standers, braces). The most important things that I bring are a loving touch and light hearted personality. I cared for my mother at the end of her life. I found that the most important thing is ensuring they feel love, positivity, fun, and dignity. One of my pet peeves is watching others administer care without talking to the person. You have to talk to people. Rather than just turning the person with no warning I feel that it is important to prepare the person. Say, "I'm going to roll you to your left side. Are you ready? 1, 2, 3."I think about how I would want a loved one to be treated.
