In 2009 I began volunteering at in the Art department at a day program for adults with developmental disabilities. I immediately realized that this was something I wanted to continue doing. Since then I have worked at several day-hab facilities, including one which focused on teaching art to adults with behavioral challenges. I also worked for three years as a personal care assistant to a woman who has quadriplegic cerebral palsy. I love working with children and have been working as a special educator in schools for children with mental and behavioral needs with trauma informed care for the last 6 years. I enjoy using alternative methods of communication and expression, specializing in visual arts and music. I am happy to explore the things your loved one enjoys so we can work together to find the best ways towards communication and fulfillment! I have earned my CNA and I am CPR and first aid certified.
